There are many bike rental shops in Prague, some with high-end sporting gear for competitive cycling, others obviously targeted at tourists and heavily overpriced. To find a casual, affordable and cyclist friendly place like you would in many other European capitals, this has been a bit of a problem in Prague. Not any more. We’ve opened the Bike Cave, a (Berlin-style) bike rental, repair and second-hand sales point just by Prague’s lively riverside hangout Náplavka.
Situated in an artificial cave blown into the rock of the Vyšehrad hill in the early 20th century, the Bike Cave is a unique starting point for your cycling experience in Prague. Whether you’re heading south for a leisure ride to the parks and beer gardens of Modrany or take a tour to the medieval Karlštejn castle on the Beroun river, you basically won’t have to deal with car traffic at all: The A1 cycle path starts just a few steps from our door.
As for summer 2022, we’ll be open daily for bike rentals between 10 am and 8 pm, but you need to make a reservation in advance (email or whatsapp) and ask for an appointment.
